Cockroach
Cockroaches are nocturnal and very hardy insects. They are usually brown or black in color and have flat, oval-shaped bodies. These insects are 2,5 to 4 cm long and have a fine hairy underside. Although they have wings, cockroaches do not usually fly; instead, they move by running quickly. Their mouthparts are specialized to gnaw and consume decaying organic matter and food crumbs.
These insects are frequently seen in human habitations and particularly prefer damp, dark areas, such as kitchens, bathrooms and garbage bins. Cockroaches pose a health risk due to the bacteria and germs they carry. They can also spread substances that can cause allergic reactions and respiratory diseases such as asthma. Young cockroaches are smaller than adults and usually develop in protective capsules.
