Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are blood-sucking parasitic insects that target humans and other mammals.
They are usually 6 to 9 mm long, with a flat, oval body structure with colors ranging from brown to reddish brown. They have no wings and can move quickly in tight spaces thanks to the short feathers on their bodies.
Bed bugs are active at night and usually hide inside beds, sofas and other furniture. During the hours when people and animals are sleeping, they pierce the skin surface without damaging the skin and suck blood. When they suck blood, their bodies swell and take on a reddish color.
Although bed bugs do not directly carry disease, their bites can cause allergic reactions and itching. They can also carry bacteria and other pathogens that can increase the risk of infection. Baby bed bugs are smaller than adults and can often multiply rapidly in the same living spaces.
