Scorpion
Scorpions are insects belonging to the arachnid family, with eight legs and a tail, whose bodies are usually covered with a hard exoskeleton.
Scorpions have long, thin and segmented bodies, with pincers (claws) on their heads and a poisonous tail on their back. The poisonous sting in their tails is used to neutralize their prey and for defense.
Scorpions are usually active at night and prefer to live in warm, dry areas. The biggest threat to humans is the bites that scorpions can inflict with their venomous stings. Most scorpion venom is harmless, but the venom of some species can cause serious allergic reactions and even death.
Scorpions play an important role in the ecosystem as they help control pests. However, when encountering scorpions in homes or gardens, caution and precautions should be taken.
